Pyrrolidines

Pyrrolidines are saturated azaheterocycles, commonly present as structural components of drugs and pharmaceutical lead. The pyrrolidine ring structure is present in many drugs such as procyclidine and bepridil, but it is also found in several natural alkaloids, such as nicotine and hygrine. The amino acids proline and hydroxyproline belong to the derivatives of pyrrolidine.

Why Pyrrolidines?

Naturally occurring pyrrolizidine, indolizidine and quinolizidine alkaloids, contain pyrrolidine as a building block and are of considerable biochemical, pharmaceutical and agricultural importance due to their diverse biological activities.

Why SpiroChem?

SpiroChem is putting a great value and focus on following the demands of our customers, which combined with the immense value of the pyrrolidines, lead to developing a library of 300 functionalized derivatives of this privileged azaheterocycle, with substitutions such as hydroxyl, amine carboxylic acid functions and more.

Additionally, SpiroChem pyrrolidines can be obtained as free amine, or with various amine protecting groups such as Boc, benzyl, CBz and many more.

Last but not least, SpiroChem has produced pyrrolidines with various fluorination patterns in order to enhance the metabolic stability of this cycloalkyl building block.
