Analytical Chemist

Position summary:

In this position, you will provide support to the synthesis department by performing and/or coordinating a variety of laboratory processes:

  • Provide technical support and assistance to chemistry teams.
  • Work independently using different analytical instruments, mainly MPLC, HPLC, GC, HPLC-MS, UPLC-MS, TLC-MS, NMR and semi-prep HPLC.
  • Ensure the daily maintenance of analytical instruments according to internal SOP in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Assess the adequacy of current analytical methods towards their intended use.
  • Define strategies and execute activities related to the development and validation of new analytical methods and perform the purification of small organic molecule (mg to 100g scale).
  • Work on some research project.
  • Use different IT software solutions.
  • Write and/or review analytical protocols (SOP) and reports ensuring adequate quality of data.
  • Communicate effectively and proactively on a regular basis on the progress of projects.

Qualifications and must have:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in analytical chemistry (or equivalent).
  • Versatility in common IT applications (Microsoft office).
  • Previous instrument experience requirements: HPLC/GC/MS skills.
  • Knowledge in Spectroscopy (Infrared Spectroscopy, NMR) analysis and in potentiometry (pKa, log P and solubility measurement) are an asset.
  • Knowledge of modern chemical and analytical techniques is mandatory.
  • Fluency in English.
